About the project
IoT applications for Cities (IoTa) project offers a training and use case definition to leverage Internet of Things systems in Urban Mobility initiatives. IoTa project is funded by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. EIT Urban Mobility acts to accelerate positive change on mobility to make urban spaces more liveable. Learn more: eiturbanmobility.eu. About the nanomooc
The course provides specific solutions for IoT systems in the urban mobility sector. The contents start with the explanation of those main IoT elements, and then provides a list of use cases to learn about the IoT technology perspective for the development in transport, logistics, and social engagement

Teaching staff
Miquel Oliver is Full Professor at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He is leading the multidisciplinary Networking and Strategies Research Group (NeTS) since its foundation. He has been Visiting Scientist at the MIT (2013-14) as well as Columbia University (2011), Queens Univ. of Belfast (2015), Southampton University (2018) and Cardiff University (2019). His research is on wireless communications, with a multidisciplinary view including regulation, telecom policies, blockchain and economic impact.
Fabio Della Valle holds a Ph.D. in Blockchain Technology from University Pompeu Fabra. At the engineering department, Fabio is conducting research on blockchain technology for the supply chain. He obtained an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Pisa and worked more than five years in different technology transfer offices in Europe. He has worked on the exploitation of research, innovation management, entrepreneurship education and supporting academic-based start-ups during business growth. Fabio started his first investigation on blockchain technology and DLTs in 2015 at the Centre for the Digital Economy at University of Surrey.
